Feel free to sign up on flickr.com so that you can leave your comments on any individual image you choose or add your comments to my guestbook by clicking here. As a child growing up in Downey California durng the 70's and 80's I've found that many of the places I remember as a kid have disappeared over the years but the memories have remained with me. I often find myself reminiscing about the Downey of yesteryear time and time again with my family and friends so I felt it was time to do research and put up a site for others who might share that same interest as well as relive the past. I'd like to thank the Downey Historical Society especially John, Donna and Bob for welcoming me on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week and answering any and all of my questions I have had with regards to my project. If you are not familiar with the Historical Society here in Downey it is located at 12540 Rives Ave at Apollo Park and their hours are 10-2 Wed/Thurs as well as every 3rd Saturday of the month. You'll be amazed at what they've got over there. For those who'd like to contact me directly I can be reached via email at michaelpoulin@dyingindowney.com or via flickr mail for those who sign up. |
